DTEC attended South Africa WCNDT-2012(the 18th World Conference on Non-Destructive Testing)

 The 18th World Conference on Non-Destructive Testing WCNDT-2012 was held in Durban (South Africa) during the period from April 16 to 20, 2012. The conference was attended by the representatives of almost of all countries that are the members of ICNDT and EFNDT and from a number of other countries.
 In parallel to the conference there was an exhibition of Nondestructive Testing, where a few hundred manufacturers and dealers of the NDT means from various countries participated and demonstrated their achievements in this field. The LLC Promprylad also participated in the NDT means exhibition. The company booth presented its latest developments in the field of ultrasonic and eddy current methods of non-destructive testing as well as in the field of acoustic emission that have caused brisk interest among the visitors.

 Within the conference the sessions of working groups (WG) of International Committee on Nondestructive Testing ICNDT and European Federation of Non-destructive Testing EFNDT were traditionally held and also the seminar on qualification, certification and accreditation in the field of NDT personnel certification.

ICNDT strongly recommend to participate in this seminar to practitioners, entrepreneurs and service consumers of non-destructive testing, Regulatory Bodies, Personnel Certification and Accreditation Bodies. V. Radko the Deputy Director UkrSRINDT attended the seminar.
 The seminar addressed the issues of standardization (ISO / IEC DIS 17024, EN ISO FDIS 9712, ISO TS 11774 and EN 4179), Global Multilateral Recognition Agreement (MRA) in the system of ICNDT (similarly to the existing MRA EFNDT), assessment and approval of non-destructive testing as a replacement or in addition to the accreditation. Also, the peculiarities of NDT personnel certification were considered in accordance with the standard ISO 9712:2012, ICNDT recommendations for the use of this standard (including the Personnel Certification Bodies), published as a separate document. ICNDT recommendations are stated in several documents and compilations.

 Within the conference there was a section on NDT personnel qualification and certification, where the participants of the conference made a number of reports about the state and prospects of the personnel certification NDT in different countries.

 18th World Conference and Exhibition on NDT WCNDT-2012 took place in the creative and business atmosphere, the participants received a lot of useful information leading to the further development of methods and activities in non-destructive testing.
